Charles Peskin’s Historic Diaries to be digitised
Charles Peskin was a resident of Coalbrookdale Shropshire, employed by the Coalbrookdale Company and was noted prolific diarist. Charles Peskin’s Historic Diaries offer details of life in the Coalbrookdale area, often in fine detail and give an insight into life in Coalbrookdale in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
The hand written diaries are now to fragile to be handled by researches, but the digitisation of these name rich diaries will make them accessible not only to local researchers, but also for researchers worldwide. Charles Peskins’s Historic Diaries will give genealogists, social historians and researchers of the industrial area a resource that is probably unique in its contents and will expand on the history of Coalbrookdale and the wider Ironbridge Gorge and Madeley areas.
More details can be found on the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust website.
