New collections added to Ancestry Website

In the past few weeks Ancestry have added a number of new collections to their website as well as update some existing collections.

New Collections

London, England, Royal Holloway and Bedford College Student Registers, 1849-1931

This collection comprises student records from two Victorian colleges, Royal Holloway, originally a female-only college founded by Thomas Holloway and Bedford College, also a college for women, founded by Elizabeth Jesser Reid.

The following information can be found in the records where available:

• Date of Birth
• Date of Admission
• Date of Marriage
• Date of Death
• Marital status
• Name of relatives

Bristol, England, Non-Conformist Baptism, Marriage and Burial Registers, 1644-1981

This collection comprises baptism, marriage and burial records from Non-Conformist congregations in the Bristol area. These include Roman Catholic, Methodist, Quaker, Presbyterian, Wesleyan, Congregationalist, Baptist, Unitarian, and other denominations.

London, England, Newgate Calendar of Prisoners, 1785-1853

This collection contains a calendar of prisoners for the years 1785 to 1853. These calendars consist of lists, for the most part printed, of prisoners tried at Assizes and Quarter Sessions.

UK, Household Cavalry Records, 1799-1920

This collection contains surviving records of service for non-commissioned officers and other ranks who served in the Life Guards, the Royal Horse Guards and the Household Battalion, and whose Army service concluded in these regiments. Images for these records are held on Fold3 for which an additional subscription is required.
