Imperial Yeomanry Records added to Ancestry
The collection comprises attestation and discharge documents of men who enrolled in the Imperial Yeomanry during the Second Boer War. The Imperial Yeomanry was a mounted volunteer force of the British Army, the force numbered just under 35,000 which saw action between 1899 and 1902. The Imperial Yeomanry was disbanded in 1908.
The images of the documents can contain details of each man’s place of birth, age and occupation and a full record of his service.
