New on Ancestry UK Police Gazettes, 1812-1902, 1921-1927.
This collection contains printed publications used for communication between members of the police force in the United Kingdom between 1812 and 1927 (with gaps in coverage). It contains information on wanted criminals, crimes committed, criminals who had been apprehended, and missing persons.
The dates quoted for available Gazettes are a bit misleading, for example the years between 1812 and 1827 are represented by 3 images, 1 in 1812 & 2 in 1816, the rest of the years have no records. Before searching I would recommend checking the publication years in the Browse list on the right hand side of the page.
The Collection can be found on the Ancestry website.
Also worth noting that the British Newspaper Archive are digitising the British Library collection of Police Gazettes which can be found on their website.
