Deregulation Act 2015 and Birth, Marriage & Death Certificates
The Deregulation Bill today received Royal Assent in which, amongst other changes, there is now the ability to provide BMD certificates in an uncertified form capable of being delivered by email and hopefully at a lower cost to researchers.
This is likely to take sometime to come on stream, but will make getting uncertified copies for research purposes much easier.
It is likely however this facility may be limited to records over a 100 years old, this will be come much clearer once the process begins.
