MyHeritage Cyber Security Incident
Genealogy Website MyHeritage has been a victim of a cyber security incident after over 92 million emails and hashed passwords where found on a server outside of MyHeritage.
The MyHeritage Blog gave this statement on the incident on 5 June:
An update to the incident was issued on 6 June and MyHeritage began the process of forcing users to creat new passwords at next sign on.
Today the 7 June MyHeritage announced the immediate introduction of Two-Factor Authentication for User Accounts
The advice is if the password used to access MyHeritage is used on other sites as well, then that password should also be changed.
