Ancestry have recently added two new collections to their website.

London Schools Admissions and Discharges 1914-1918

This new collection covers School Admission and Discharges in London for the years 1912 to 1918. The collection contains details of just under 100,000 students from schools across London.

These records detail children who were admitted to and discharged from schools in the London area, the records vary by school and some are more detailed than others. The records may show:

  • Date of Admission
  • Name of Child
  • Child’s Parents’ names
  • Parents’ occupation
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Age

London Poor Law School District Registers, 1852-1918

This new collection covers Admission and Discharges Registers for Poor Law Districts Schools across London for the years 1852 to 1918. The collection contains details of more than 219,000 students from schools across London.

These records detail children who were admitted to and discharged from schools in the London area, the records vary by school and some are more detailed than others. The records may show:

  • Admission Date
  • Discharge Date
  • Name of Child
  • Gender
  • School attended
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Age
