A number of old documents which have not been seen for more than 30 years have been recovered from a mysterious dust covered safe in Ruyton XI Towns village hall.
The records uncovered date from the 19th and early 20th Century and give an insight to what the village was like at this time.
There were almost 30 documents found in the safe, the earliest dated back to 1822 and was about property frontage lengths for highway repairs, plus deeds for properties in the village.
The papers are to be handed over to Shropshire Archives in due course.
